Saudi Arabia: Mecca records one of the highest temperature on Earth – Gulf News

Maximum temperature reached 50C due to gusts of hot, dry winds
Abu Dhabi: Arafat, a plain located around 20km southeast of Mecca, Saudi Arabia, recorded 50 degrees Celsius, one of the the highest temperature on Earth, on Sunday, according to Arabic website Arabia Weather.
Arabia Weather warned that Mecca and the holy sites were affected by hot and dry winds, raising temperatures dramatically.
In June this year, Kuwait recorded the highest temperature in the world for 2021, registering 53.2°C, according to America’s El Dorado Weather, which collects temperature data from countries’ meteorological stations.
